The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), on Wednesday, claimed responsibility for the Tuesday night attack on the Kuje Custodial Centre (prison) in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Recall that on Tuesday night, terrorists stormed and broke into the jail facility and released over 600 inmates.
Further reports also had it that during the attack, terrorists freed members of their organization.
In a 38-second video that was made public on Wednesday night, the terrorist group showed how several of its members were shooting their way into the Kuje prison.
The terrorists could be seen marching in formation while burning cars and structures.

The Islamic State’s A’maq Agency released the video with the caption: “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.” The words were written in Arabic.
Recall that Bashir Magashi, the Minister of Defense, said during his visit to the facility that the terrorists went straight to where the Boko Haram inmates were being detained.
After the incident, according to Magashi, it was impossible to find any of the 64 Boko Haram suspects who were in detention.
