Former Governor of Lagos state and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has pledged to dredge and service the Calabar seaport if elected as Nigeria’s president in 2023. ayokinews.com reports
Speaking to party delegates from Cross River state on Wednesday, Tinubu promised to ensure the rehabilitation of the displaced Bakassi people.
Tinubu, who was seeking delegates’ support ahead of the June 6, APC presidential primary said: “Many can promise but only very few can deliver. I am standing before you as a fulfilled man, very confident of myself, I can turn Nigeria around.
“We will rehabilitate those displaced by Bakassi. We will dredge and service the port of Calabar.”
Tinubu’s campaign director and former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, and Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, had earlier encouraged delegates to vote for the only candidate who could rescue Nigeria from the current condition.
Alphonsus Eba, the Cross River state APC chairman, responded by describing Tinubu as the party’s cornerstone.
