Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has heaped praises on Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for enthrusting juicy ministerial portfolios to the southeastern region.
Soludo thanked President Tinubu for putting the South East region in his goodwill despite recording the lowest votes in the region during the last presidential election.
He said that the assigning of the Minister of Works to the region was a huge gift to the Igbos.
“In politics, you don’t get what you deserve but what you bargain for with votes,” he said.
Soludo said that given the totality of “votes we [South East] contributed and looking at the ministerial portfolios,” the region “may not have the basis to begin to demand ‘juicy’ portfolios”.
He said, however, that the “president graciously gave us one of our finest and best, one of the few engineers who pioneered concrete pavement as current standard for road construction.”
