The Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, on Tuesday 26th October 2021, commissioned the newly constructed Marine Police post at the university’s Lagoon front. ayokinews.com reports
The newly constructed marine police post at the university now serves as a replacement to the former building which was earlier built-in 1991/1992.
Speaking during the event was the Lagos state Police Commander in charge of Area ‘C’, ACP Fatai Tijani, who led the police delegation, lauded the UNILAG management for the development saying the newly constructed Marine Police post situated at the university lagoon front complements the Police efforts in improving the security of lives and properties especially the coastal areas of the state.

ACP Fatai Tijani, who represented the Lagos state police commissioner, CP Akeem Odumosu, also used the medium to commend Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe led UNILAG management for maintaining a robust relationship with the police force.
He stated that the Marine security post would improve police presence within and outside the UNILAG campus and also strengthen security surveillance around Iwaya, Makoko, Oworonshoki, and other coastal communities in the state.
