The building was said to have collapsed at around 9:09 p.m., and responders were quickly sent to the incident scene, according to the state emergency management agency (LASEMA).

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, said that two rooms in a house next to the two-story structure were damaged when the tank scaffolding of the building collapsed on it.

He added, “Unfortunately 2 children died from the impact. 3 adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

“The Agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA are responders at the incident scene. Operation ongoing.”
