National political leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised not to let Nigerians down over their clamour for his presidency ahead of the forthcoming Nigerian 2023 election. ayokinews.com reports
Tinubu came out to address his 2023 presidential candidacy on Tuesday, after holding a closed-door meeting with members of the Northern Alliance Committee in Abuja.
He assured his supporters that he had heard their clamour for his 2023 presidency and that he wouldn’t let their hopes down.
However, Tinubu disclosed that consultations with political stakeholders were still ongoing in respect of 2023 presidential decisions.
When asked if he wasn’t going to heed the clamour of Nigerians to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, Tinubu said: “I am not going to turn them (Nigerians) down, but I will still effectively and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends, and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians.”
Endorsing the former Lagos State Governor for the 2023 presidential ticket, was the leader of the Northern Alliance Committee, Ambassador Lawal Ahmed Munir, who stated that the meeting resolved to work for the actualization of the ambition the APC National Leader.
According to Munir, the Northern Alliance Committee had fruitful discussions with Tinubu.
