Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad, has called for an end to the politicization of security affairs in Nigeria. ayokinews.com reports
Sultan Sa’ad stated that the politicization of the raging insecurity in the country will do the nation no good but worsen the already fragile situation.
The Sultan of Sokoto made this known while speaking at a one-day ‘Retreat on Inclusive Security’ organised by the Global Peace Foundation and Vision of Africa in Abuja.
He bitterly lamented the increasing insecurity in the country while stating that people should learn to consider human lives as being “sacred” and that leaders should stop pretending like all is well.
“It’s unfortunate that this is what we are seeing across the land. Parties are accusing one another of not doing enough to tackle insecurity. I think that is the major problem we have been facing in the country,” the Sultan said.
