Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, has ordered a special military operation in the Donbas area of Ukraine. ayokinews.com reports
Putin said on television, according to ABC News, that Ukraine’s threats would not be tolerated by Russia.
Speaking on the level of escalation was Ukraine’s Interior Minister, who confirmed that Russia has initiated strikes on on the country.
Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, and other cities around Ukraine, according to reports.
According to reports, the strikes were aimed against the country’s critical infrastructure.
President Joe Biden of the United States vehemently condemned the assaults, calling them unwarranted.
Putin, he claimed, had chosen a “premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering”.

Biden stated that the United States and its NATO allies will respond decisively to Russia’s aggression.
”Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring, and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive way. The world will hold Russia accountable,” Biden said.
Putin had dispatched soldiers to separatist-controlled areas of eastern Ukraine for what he termed a “peacekeeping” mission.
The orders came hours after Putin signed decrees recognizing the autonomy (independence) of Moscow-backed separatist regions of Ukraine.
Putin’s decrees formally recognized the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), two separatist regions in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas area.
The decrees declared them Independent states and pledged Russian forces to protect them. Russian peacekeeping personnel would be stationed in the locations, according to the directives.
