Dylan Gonzalez, a former basketball player at the University of Las Vegas, has leveled rape allegations against singer Trey Songz. ayokinews.com reports
An attorney has now been hired by the basketball player to represent her in a possible sexual assault complaint against the musician.
Dylan claimed in a statement made on Tuesday, January 11, that the event occurred in a well-known Las Vegas hotel.
She said:
“With what seems like endlessly reoccurring news of the alleged sexual assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas hotel.
“I want to send my love, strength, and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its fatal nature. You are not alone.
“I stand with you and encourage all those who have suffered abuse to speak out and come forward. Suppression of our voices only emboldens our oppressors, and you cannot heal what you do not reveal.
“At this time, I humbly request my privacy, consideration and compassion while I fully commit to pursue the best course of action and all of my legal options.”
Speaking with PEOPLE magazine, Dylan Gonzalez’s legal team, George Vrabeck and Ariel Mitchell, said that they’d be suing Trey Songz in the coming weeks and are in the process of formally filing the lawsuit.
Dylan’s attorneys, George Vrabeck and Ariel Mitchell, also represent Jahaura Jeffries, who publicly identified herself and claims that Songz sexually assaulted her in a Miami nightclub in 2018. The singer has not yet responded to the allegations leveled against him but is expected to formally respond in due time.
Recall that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated in November 2021, that they had received “a report of a sexual assault event said to have occurred at a hotel in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard” involving Songz, whose actual name is Tremaine Neverson. The victim was not identified, and the basketball player’s lawyers stated that her charges are unrelated to the incident.
In August 2020, the “Nobody Else But You” crooner was accused by a lady who publicly identified herself as Aliza, of urinating on her without her consent after an otherwise consensual sexual encounter. Songz refuted the charges in a tweet, calling Aliza’s accusations “convenient” for someone who wants to “ruin another’s life.”
In 2017, Keke Palmer claimed that Songz used “sexual intimidation” to get her to appear in one of his music videos, stating that he “secretly filmed” her and “placed her in a music video against my will.”
Reacting to Keke Palmer’s claim on Instagram, Trey Songz wrote in part, “So sorry for those that believe everything without knowing anything. However, I cannot devote my life to responding to, or clearing up every side of every story you hear about me, when would I actually live? I know my character, I know my truth, I know my heart. God does too.”
