Eight domestic employees of David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, an award-winning worldwide music sensation, were questioned by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday over the unfortunate death of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi.
This was disclosed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police public relations officer, after the boy drowned on Monday at his father’s home in the Banana Island neighborhood of Lagos State, according to Channels Television.
“No arrest yet but domestic staff have been brought in for questioning,” Hundeyin added.
Additionally, a close friend of the performer confirmed Ifeanyi’s untimely demise to Channels Television on Tuesday.
According to reports, Davido and Chioma left Ifeanyi with his guardians on Monday for a traveling.
Since Ifeanyi’s passing, the entertainment industry and Nigerians as a whole have been in grief. Many have sent their condolences to Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, as well as to Ifeanyi’s family and friends.
Similarly sad circumstances led to the death of Daniel Jr., the son of Nigerian music icon Daniel Oyebanjo, called D’banj, in 2018.
Daniel Jr. reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in Lagos, while the D’banj was abroad in Los Angeles, California, for a musical award.
