A Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Obadiah Mailafia, has reportedly died at the age of 64 years-old. ayokinews.com reports
Report of Mailafia’s death was disclosed by family sources who confirmed that the former Nigerian CBN Deputy Governor died on Sunday morning at the National Hospital in Abuja.
Obadiah Mailafia was a Nigerian economist who hails from Randa, a Christian-dominated part of Southern Kaduna. He was also an educationist who taught economics at various institutions.

He was a foremost advocate for peace in Nigeria till his death and was also keen on finding a lasting solution to the incessant killings and persecutions in the northern part of Nigeria, most especially Southern-Kaduna.
Mailafia was also a staunch critic of the security policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration and was at a point invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his sensitive comments on security issues in the country.
