The former Nigerian President’s son, Aminu, who happens to be a student of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), was earlier in June, accused of causing the death of four people through reckless driving.

According to the police and First Information Report (FIR), it was noted that Aminu was on the 23rd of June, 2021, driving through the Yola bypass when his car ran and crush six (6) people.

The crash crushed six people out of which  four (4) people were killed while 2 were badly injured.

The following are the lists of Aminu Yard’Adua’s car crash victims according to First Information Report (FIR); Aisha Umar (30), Aisha Mamadu (32), Suleiman Abubakar (2), and Jummai Abubakar (30) died in the accident, while Rejoice Annu (28) and Hajara Aliyu (27).

Speaking in court, the prosecutor told the court that the deceased victims want from the defendant a N15 million naira compensation.

The defendant denied committing the alleged crime after the FIR read out it crime report to the defendant.

The prosecutor then requested that the court adjourn the case so the case file can be copied and sent to the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

Justice Jummai Ibrahim, of the Magistrate Court, further granted the prosecutor’s plea by adjourning the case to August 19 while ordering that the former President’s son be detained in prison.

His father Musa Yar’Adua, a former Governor of Katsina (1999-2007) later went on to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He wasn’t able to complete his first tenure in office as a result of a long protracted illness which claimed the life for the ex-President.
