Latest rankings pitched 2022 hit song “Buga” by Kizz Daniel featuring Tekno as the most searched music in Nigeria.
Ever since its debut on the Nigeria play scene, “Buga” has broke several rave records.
The slightly longer than three-minute song was made more enjoyable for listeners, thanks to the dance challenges on Tiktok and Instagram, which boosted the song’s popularity.
Both younger and older age groups have expressed interest in the song, which has also gained recognition on national and international stage. George Weah, the President of Liberia, and Rotimi Amaechi, a former Nigerian minister of transportation, are two notable figures who have danced to the song.
After being released on May 3, 2022, “Buga” quickly rose to prominence, topping the charts in more than ten countries on Apple Music. It also quickly became the most Shazamed song ever.
In the first half of 2022, it was the song that Nigerians searched for the most on Google, demonstrating its broad appeal and serving as irrefutable evidence of its status.
The song’s vibrant video, which was directed by TG Omori, was shot in a carnival-like setting while showing the flags of numerous nations. It has received over 29 million views since its debut.

Famous skit creator Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, better known by the stage name Oga Sabinus, was also featured in the song video. At the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, the skit maker was named best internet content creator.
The “Woju” singer secured a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, which was the beginning of his musical career. He later left the company as a result of a contract disagreement and highly publicized legal battle.
In November 2017, the former “Kiss Daniel” established the Fly Boy Inc record label.
