Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, has raised doubts over former President Goodluck Jonathan’s membership to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). ayokinews.com reports
Jonathan, who has been a member of the PDP since 1999, has recently been missing from major party events, including Senator Iyorcha Ayu’s election as National Chairman at the party’s national convention.
The former President has since been paying numerous trips to Buhari at Aso Rock, conducting intimate meetings, fueling rumors about his PDP membership.
When asked during an interview with BBC whether Jonathan is still a member of the PDP, Lamido said, “I doubt it; he has not been attending recent activities of our party.”
