In a speech criticizing Russia’s political system, former US President George W Bush, made a gaffe by referring to the Ukraine attack as “an unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq.” ayokinews.com reports
Bush made the mistake when he referred to the invasion of Iraq as “brutal” and “unjustified,” later clarifying that he was referring to Russia’s attack in Ukraine.
He made the remarks while giving a speech in Dallas, on Wednesday, during which he criticized Russia’s political system.
“The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia, and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq,” Bush said, before correcting himself and shaking his head.
“I mean, of Ukraine.”

The former president humorously blamed the error on his age as the crowd erupted into laughter.
Bush’s remark went viral after a Dallas News reporter posted a recording of the speech online, gathering over three million views on Twitter alone.
In addition, the former US President compared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Winston Churchill, Britain’s wartime leader, while criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin for initiating the attack on Ukraine.
