A former Nigerian Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, has expressed his sadness over the worsening state of social, political and economic instability in Nigeria. ayokinews.com reports
Speaking to newsmen in Akure, Ondo state, Falae stated that Nigeria have now become the world’s capital for corruption and unemployment.
He further said that the issue of banditry should be properly and cautiously checked so as to prevent the country from negotiating territories with the insurgents in the nearest future.
He however noted that Nigeria is already sitting on a keg of gunpowder and is waiting to explode.
Falae further added, “We are already at the edge of the cliff. The question is, are they going to topple into the abyss below? Or are we going to find a way of pulling back from the precipice? That is the question,” he said.
“For us to pull back, there must be a political initiative that will signal that tomorrow will be better than today. If there is no such signal, I don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, I don’t know.”
