The immediate past President and CEO of Transcorp Plc, Valentine Ozigbo, has on Saturday 26th June, 2021, been elected as the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate for the Anambra State gubernatorial election ahead of the upcoming November 6 election. ayokinews.com reports
Mr. Ozigbo was elected after the PDP primary election which was held in the state’s capital, Awka, at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center.
The party’s primary results came out with Ozigbo pulling in 62 votes to that of his contender, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, who pulled in 58 votes while Senator Uche Ekwunife pulled in 44 votes.
Report also has it that a faction of the Anambra State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also went ahead to hold it’s own primary election at Paul University, Awka, electing Senator Ugochukwu Uba as the Party’s faction governorship candidate ahead of the November 6 Anambra gubernatorial election.
