Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, the accused billionaire kidnap kingpin, told an Ikeja Special Offences Court on Friday, February 4, that his eyes witnessed hell in the hands of disgraced super cop, DCP Abba Kyari and his men. ayokinews.com reports
Evans is being tried along with an ex-soldier, Victor Aduba, on a four-count charge of kidnapping and unauthorized possession of firearms.
Speaking before the court, Evans denied kidnapping businessman Sylvanus Ahamonu and demanding $420,000 in ransom from his family.
On Friday, while being cross-examined by Mr Yusuf Sule, the state prosecutor, he made the denial.
Evans stated in court that he was born in Nnewi, Anambra, on April 22, 1980. He flatly denied knowing Mr. Ahamonu previous to his arrest.
Evans explained that he was pushed to act in a cheery (jovial) manner by the police in the confessional video played in court when the prosecution presented its case.
In his words: “The police told me to be laughing and smiling in the video. You do not know what I encountered in the hands of Abba Kyari and his boys. My eyes saw hell.
“It was what they told me to be doing that I was doing.”
