Ignoring all the various warnings and threats from the Lagos State Police Command and the Nigerian authorities against every form of street protest in commemoration of the one year anniversary of the #EndSARS movement, the Nigerian social media space has now been flooded with the proposed activities/orders of event of the memorial. ayokinews.com reports
According to the circulated flyer of the proposed EndSARS anniversary on social media, it was clearly stated that the event is to commence with a Jumaat service on October 15, at the Jumaat Suadr Central Mosque, Ojota, Lagos.
The Jumaat service would be followed by traditional rites on the 16th of October at the New Afrikan Shrine in Agidingbi, Lagos.
This is also to be strictly followed by a church service on the 17th of October, which is to be held at the Lagos Christian Centre in Oregun, Lagos.
Information gathered by AYOKINEWS also revealed that memorial protests would be held in major Nigerian cities like Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, and also a peaceful demonstration at the Lekki Toll Gate by Nigerian activists in Lagos on October 20.
Following the circulated report of the #EndSARS memorial anniversary, the Nigerian Police Force has further issued warning to members of the public to desist from any form of protest as the force won’t tolerate any form of activity that would endanger the lives of innocent Nigerians.
