Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, has praised the lawmakers who gave President Muhammadu Buhari a six-week ultimatum to improve the national security or face being removed from office.
Recall that PDP senators gave President Muhammadu Buhari an ultimatum on Wednesday, demanding that he either solve the nation’s security issues or face impeachment procedures.
On Thursday, PDP legislators in the house of representatives took the same course as those in the senate.
Ortom stated this when he hosted a team of some National Assembly members led by the minority leader of the Senate, Philip Aduda, in Abuja on Friday.

In a statement released by Nathaniel Ikyur, his spokesperson, Ortom said that in terms of tackling security and economic issues, Buhari had fallen short of Nigerians’ expectations.
“The governor described the decision of both the senate and the house of representatives to impeach the President as ‘patriotic’ and particularly commended some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, who have opted to do the ‘right thing’,” the statement reads.
“According to Governor Ortom, President Buhari has performed far below the expectations of Nigerians in solving both the security and economic challenges of the country, and so needs to give way for a more competent person.”
