The motion to impeach Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari from office has received the support of Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo of Adamawa North Senatorial District.
According to Abbo, Buhari’s impeachment is something he totally supports.
On Wednesday, Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as several members of the opposition walked out of a Senate plenary session.
The senators left when Ahmad Lawan, the president of the Senate, refused open a discussion about Buhari’s impeachment and a notification was delivered to the president.
The move to impeach President Buhari by the lawmakers was prompted by the increased spate of insecurity in the country.
The senators gave Buhari a six weeks ultimatum to address the nation’s security concerns or they would have to consider impeaching him.
However, Abbo, while speaking with Channels TV, said: “I’m in full support of the impeachment move against the President.
“The Nigerian leader has failed in his fundamental responsibility to secure the lives and property of the people.”
