A former Nigerian Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senator representing Niger North senatorial district, Senator Nuhu Aliyu, has on Wednesday 4th August, 2021, been reported dead. ayokinews.com reports
The Nigerian politician was said to have died on Wednesday after suffering from a brief illness.
The report of his death was announced and confirmed in a statement issued by Secretary to Niger State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, who noted that the state and country had lost an important icon.

The statement reads in part; “The patriotic tendencies and excellent handling of legislative duties concerning the welfare of people and the nation demonstrated by late Senator Nuhu Aliyu are worthy of emulations.
“But we must take solace in the fact that from God we all come and to Him we shall all return. Nobody shall live longer than the time appointed by Almighty God.”
