Popular controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, has called on the Nigerian federal government to reward armed bandits with money and land. ayokinews.com reports
Sheikh Gumi, stated that the rewarding armed bandits, is a way of ending hostilities against the Nigerian government.
According to Gumi, past attempts by the federal government “to broker peace” with the armed bandits failed because they weren’t compensated “with lands, cattle’s or money big enough to help halt hostilities.”

Sheikh Gumi, further revealed that sometimes, the Nigerian government “just give them (bandits) a million or two million and get their weapons without even looking at how they survive.”
Speaking during a live stream on his official Facebook page, Gumi said that only religion can be used to pacify the bandits to accept peace.
Also contrary to Sheikh Gumi’s opinion, is the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, who publicly admitted that majority of the armed bandits disturbing Nigeria, are Fulanis, while noting that they don’t deserve amnesty.
