Following the failure of collective bargaining, bandits have begun discussions with the relatives of the victims abducted in the Angwar Bulus village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. ayokinews.com reports
On March 31, bandits stormed the community, kidnapping 26 people and killing two others.
Bandits are now demanding a ransom of N20 million naira from the community before the 26 persons abducted could be freed.
The bandits executed three persons a few days ago, blaming the community for failing to pay the requested ransom. The three bodies were discovered by community leaders on Monday in Dutse, a village along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, where they had been dumped.
One of the kidnap victims was also freed on account of his health by the bandits.
The community was given until April 19 to pay the ransom or more of the remaining 22 victims will be executed.

Since no collective bargaining agreement had been reached, Goni, a leader of the community, claimed the bandits had begun approaching families individually.
“We are all confused because the bandits are now dealing with individual family members since the whole community could not raise the N20 million to secure the victims. We now leave everything in God’s hand,” he said.
Goni further pleaded with the government to establish a military outpost in the community to safeguard residents from the bandits that frequently terrorize the area.
