The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) leadership met on Tuesday, but no deal was reached.
As a result, the public university lecturers’ six-month-old strike is expected to continue.
With high hopes of ending the strike, the lecturers and met with the Professor Nimi Briggs Committee at the National University Commission (NUC) in Abuja.
According to a senior ASUU member who spoke to Channels Television, the Briggs renegotiation committee members did not present any fresh offers.

He claims that the committee begged the university lecturers to call off their strike, promising to address their issues in the budget for 2023.
Around 12 o’clock, the meeting got underway, and it lasted for around three hours.
ASUU had embarked on a protracted strike action since February 14, 2022.
