Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated clearly that the All Progressive Congress (APC) will not issue its tickets to the highest bidder or impose candidates on the party, in the run-up to the 2023 general elections. ayokinews.com reports
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the President’s handpicked candidate, was elected national chairman of the APC after six other contenders withdrew from the race.
Speaking on the forthcoming party primaries, Buhari stated that candidates must be elected into positions in a free and fair manner.

President Muhammadu Buhari made this known while speaking at the APC National Convention in Abuja on Saturday.
“Popular and acceptable aspirants who remain the people’s choice must be allowed to fly the party’s flag in the 2023 elections. We will resist the imposition of candidates,” he said.
Prior to the primaries, he stated that the party needed to remain strong and unified in order to fully use the vast and plentiful potential available to it.
