Former Vice President and 2023 presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has revealed why he deleted a post condemning the assassination of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State, who was burned alive on Thursday.
Deborah Samuel was on Thursday, beaten to a pulp and burned alive by male Muslim students who accused her of disrespecting Prophet Muhammed on a WhatsApp message.
Following the tensed situation, the school authority decided to halt academic activities indefinitely.
In response to the tragedy, Atiku stated that all individuals responsible for the killing of Deborah Samuel must be brought to justice.
“There cannot be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered, and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends,” Atiku wrote.

However, Atiku’s remark did not go down well with religious fanatics as they flooded the former Vice President’s comment section, threatening to frustrate his presidential bid in 2023.
The remarks were removed from Atiku’s social media accounts after several threats from his fellow northerners.
Taking to his official Facebook page on Friday, Atiku stated that the message posted earlier was not approved by him.
“This evening I received information that a post was made that doesn’t agree with my orders. I use this to announce that any post without AA is not from me. May God protect – AA.”
