The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has revealed the reason why he accepted and signed a short term contract with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Peseiro’s previous contract with the NFF expired at the end of June.
Following this, the 63-year-old signed another six-months contract with the NFF. The current deal will expire at the end of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations set to be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire between January 13 to February 11.
Speaking on his devisin to ink another short term contract with the NFF, Peseiro pointed out to his burning desire to lift the AFCON.
“Me and my staff did everything in order to stay here to train these players and reach the big goal – win the AFCON title,” Peseiro told Brila FM.
The Super Eagles have in the past, won the AFCON title three times.
