Early on Sunday morning, Leon Edwards defeated Nigerian Kamaru Usman in Salt Lake City, USA, to become the second British champion in UFC history.
The British fighter was behind on the scoresheets but unexpectedly emerged victorious.
With nine consecutive victories, Edwards entered the contest unbeaten.

However, the Jamaican-born British fighter, who had previously lost to Usman, exacted revenge by hitting a brutal head kick that sent Usman crashing to the ground, with only seconds remaining in their five-bout fight.
Usman led the fight 3-1 after the fourth round, only needing to escape a knockout to win the championship, and match Anderson Silva’s record of six consecutive title defenses as the greatest MMA fighter of all time.
