On the 13th of July, 2022; the San Francisco-based web browser – Brave; notified its users on its official Twitter handle about the browser’s latest integration with Solana-based Dapps.
Though the team had been making plans to collaborate with the Solana network since late 2021, the latest version 1.41 would be a breakthrough in actualizing this vision.
“Release 1.41 is another step in the direction of opening up the decentralized web to more people. We continue to drive forward our vision of a multi-chain Brave wallet, offering our community more choice and control with security and privacy at its core.”
The Google Chrome arch-contender – Brave; aims to further pursue its purpose of creating a secure and private web browser free of tracking cookies and privacy-invading ads. Over 16 million daily users all over the world enjoy its fast load time, battery, and money-saving features.
With a collaboration with the Solana ecosystem; Brave would be bringing users a step closer to the era of web3. Also, with its in-built native cryptocurrency web wallet, users would be able to access DeFi protocols seamlessly with low fees and fast transaction speed.
Some of the Solana dapps featured in this integration include:
- Magic Eden – a decentralized NFT buying and selling platform that would allow users to buy and sell unique digital assets.
- Audius – artist-controlled and community-driven decentralized music streaming platform.
- STEPN – the fitness app that tracks and rewards users with crypto for staying fit.
- Squads – An application used to create DAOs on the Solana Network.
“Brave wallet already makes web3 easy-to-use with multiple features and partnerships, and today we’re expanding this access via our Solana integration and DApp support for our desktop browsers, with mobile coming soon” – Brendan Eich, CEO, and co-founder of Brave.
The team also gave insight on a special BAT/Brave-themed NFT collection that will be launching on Magic Eden this month for lovers of the BAT token.
As for developers who would be building Solana Dapps; the Brave team has provided a document that contains instructions on creating dapps that connects with the Brave wallet.
