Nigerian foremost writer and Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has condemned the activities/programs of popular Reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) as being nauseating. ayokinews.com reports
Soyinka made this known during an interview the UK Guardian where he lamented the outright promotion of sex and nudity on a live television broadcast.
He said, “I find it nauseating. I watched Big Brother Africa out of duty when it first came out in 2003. My friends used to rush home.
“They would say: “Excuse me, I must get back. I’ve got to watch this episode,” Prof. Soyinka said.

The Nobel laureate further stated that the act of publicly displaying sex and nudity contradicts with his personal beliefs and moral norms.
“I think I managed about two and a half episodes. But the voyeurism was totally contrary to everything I believed.
“So I haven’t seen the new version at all. I’m not going near it,” Prof. Soyinka said.
