The vice-captain of the Nigerian Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong, has declared that Victor Osimhen is now the best forward at the moment.
Osimhen is enjoying a standout season with Serie A team Napoli.
The Partenopei are on track to win the Scudetto for the first time in thirty years thanks to the striker’s 19 goals in 22 league games.
The 24-year-old has also won a few individual honors this year as well.
Last week, Osimhen won both the Serie A Best Player award for January and February and the title of Best Foreign Athlete in Italy.
According to Troost-Ekong, his international counterpart now stands out among strikers worldwide.
“Osimhen is probably the best striker in the world right now. I am happy for him because he has overcome difficult moments,” he was quoted as saying by Sports Italia.
“It’s a very important year for him, he can win the Scudetto, and then he’ll be able to think about the future.”
