One of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s top adviser, Anatoly Chubais, has resigned from his position as the Kremlin ambassador to foreign organizations. ayokinews.com reports
“Chubais has resigned at his own request,” Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov said, NAN reports.
Chubais’ resignation was said to be connected to Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine, but Peskov stressed that it was a “personal” decision.
Reports has it that the 66-year-old Moscow official had departed Russia for Turkey.
In December 2020, Chubais was appointed as Russia’s special representative to international organizations.

Chubais was a key architect of Russia’s post-Soviet transition to a market economy during the government of former President Boris Yeltsin, decades ago.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict stated on February 24, after Russian President Vladimir Putin, ordered a special military operation in the Donbas region of Ukraine.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has ever since, been met with series of sanctions from NATO and its other allies.
