The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has claimed that rising energy price is having an impact on broadcasters’ ability to operate and generate money.
The performance of broadcasters is being harmed, according to a statement released by BON on Wednesday. This is due to advertisers’ cutting back on their advertising budgets and unpaid debt.
Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, the Executive Secretary of BON, appealed for government support to advance the industry.
“It was a year that the National grid collapsed many times, magnifying the epileptic public power supply endemic while bills for the non-available power supply kept rising unabated,” he said.
In Nigeria, the price of Premium Motor Spirit, or PMS, often known as petrol, diesel, and other items, has risen dramatically, impeding corporate activity in all sectors.
