Following the tragic loss of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96, Prince Charles is now formally known as King Charles III.
Despite the fact that King Charles III won’t be crowned for a few months (more on that later), he ascended to the throne as soon as Queen Elizabeth died.
In a lengthy piece to The Guardian about what would happen in the days following the Queen’s demise, Sam Knight said that Charles’s siblings will “kiss his hands” as soon as he becomes king. He will address the nation at six o’clock in the evening.
After tomorrow morning’s “accession council” proclamation of Charles as king, he will inform the Prime Minister Liz Truss and other government representatives (although it bears noting that he officially became a king the moment his mother passed). It was reported that two days later, he will make a brief journey to the UK.
The approaching coronation of Charles, known as “Operation Golden Orb,” reportedly has “binders and binders” of paperwork, according to The Daily Mail.
Speaking to Daily Mail, back in February 2022, was a source who said: “It’s very complex. The Golden Orb committee used to meet twice a year, but now they’re meeting much more frequently, sometimes once a month. Compared to the last coronation, there will be a lot less fuss.
“Last time, special green chairs were commissioned and guests were able to have them delivered to their homes afterward. You won’t see that sort of thing this time.”
The coronation will likely occur up to a year after the Queen’s passing, to allow for both planning and an appropriate time of mourning.
