According to report reaching ayokinews.com, there’s a purported sack of some of the Nigerian presidential aides after the recent ban of popular micro blogging platform (Twitter) as some of the presidential aides have now become jobless as a result of the ban.
The president who seemed unhappy about the state of events in the eastern part of the country, took to his official twitter handle to issue a statement which many Nigerian deemed to be racist and genocidal.
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand,” President Buhari tweeted.
According to a source who spoke to Sahara Reporters, he stated that some of President Buhari’s aides currently stand the risk of loosing their jobs after the Friday Twitter ban in the country.
“Some of them will be asked to go. They are lobbying too to keep their jobs. Some top presidency chiefs believe these guys just sit on Twitter and do nothing. They only send out controversial tweets which ridicule Buhari the more. When you remove Twitter and Instagram from them, some of them are idle and useless”.
“Since last Friday, some of the social media aides have been trying to change their portfolios and add new responsibilities, so that they can remain relevant. They are presently idle,” the source said.
It should be recalled that the Nigerian government on the 18th of June, 2021, suspended the micro blogging platform (Twitter) over the removal of the alleged racial genocidal tweet of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
In an official statement issued by the micro blogging platform, Twitter claimed the Nigerian President’s tweet violated its community guidelines thus making the need to delete the genocidal tweet.
