Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra state and Vice Presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections, has announced to his intentions to run for Presidency in 2023. ayokinews.com reports
Obi, who spoke via his official Twitter handle @PeterObi, noted that he would run for President if the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) zones its ticket to the south and that if thrown open, Nigerians would hear from him.
He wrote: “Yes, I will step into the field to contest for the opportunity to serve this great country as President if my party, the @OfficialPDPNig, zones the ticket to the south. But if it is thrown open, Nigerians will also hear from me. -PO”

This is coming hours after being ditched by his 2019 co-aspirant Atiku Abubakar, who picked Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike, as his running mate ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.
Recall that Nigerians had earlier taken to social media to call out the Igbo born politician to contest for President in 2023, with many promising to cast him their votes as they believe he’d perform exceptionally if elected to the top position.
