Doyin Okupe a former aide to Ex-Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has lashed out at the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, of not being at his level in contemporary politics. ayokinews.com reports
Doyin Okupe’s statement follows the recent attack on the PDP National Chairman, Chief Uche Secondus, by the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Okupe noted that he had every right of calling to order derailing members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should he sense any form of them going against what the party stands for.
“I believe I have the right and the merit to call our members to order irrespective of their status in the party.”
Speaking on his political rank, Okupe stated that those who could rub shoulders with him in politics affairs are the likes of Peter Odili, Rufus Ada George and not the current Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, whom he considers to be his Junior colleague in contemporary politics.
“For a fact, my own contemporaries in the political hierarchy of Rivers State are former Govs Rufus Ada George and Peter Odili. So I am a senior and leader to our indefatigable Gov Wike politically.
“Therefore, I consider it a duty to intervene at this juncture,” Okupe said.
