Former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, whose secret financial activities was recently uncovered in the Pandora Papers report, has been summoned for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). ayokinews.com reports
This is the first move of the Nigerian anti-graft agency (EFCC) since PREMIUM TIMES started an intensive report on influential Nigerians involved in the ICIJ “Pandora Papers” offshore accounts scandal.
Information gathered by Ayoki News revealed that the EFCC invitation of Mr. Peter Obi, was communicated to him during the week and he has been asked to report to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, on October 27, to face an investigative panel.

According to separate sources, it was learned that the invitation by the EFCC was in connection to the ICIJ Pandora Papers, which exposed the financial crimes of Peter Obi and other world prominent personalities.
The Pandora Papers report exposed how Peter Obi, incorporated offshore holdings, which he failed to declare to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), during his stay as a Governor and also how he continued managing his Next International UK Limited 14 months after becoming a governor. The report also revealed that Obi continued operating his foreign account as a state governor in Nigeria.
