The Nigerian Federal Government has vowed to alter attempts of Nigerians wanting to join the ongoing war in Ukraine against Russia. ayokinews.com reports
Recall that since Russia began the invasion of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky, urged people all over the globe to join the struggle against the aggression.
Following the call, about 150 Nigerians have offered to be recruited to save Ukraine from further Russian strikes and advancement.
In a statement released on Monday, by Francisca Omayuli, the spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that such recruitment would not be accepted by the Nigerian Government.

The statement further added that the federal government will contact the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria to block the recruitment of its nationals.
Part of the statement reads, “As a responsible member of the international community and consistent with our obligations under international law, Nigeria discourages the use of mercenaries anywhere in the world and will not tolerate the recruitment, in Nigeria, of Nigerians as mercenaries to fight in Ukraine or anywhere else in the world”.
