The Chairman Nigerian Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume, has praised the Nigerian military for the huge success recorded in the fight against terrorism and other forms of insurgency in Nigeria. ayokinews.com reports
Senator Ndume noted that the current service chiefs has proven their zeal to end insecurity/insurgency in the country.
The senator’s speech was contained in a statement released by the Director of Army Public Relations, Nwachukwu Onyema, during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Farouk Yahaya, in Abuja on Thursday.
He further charged the service chiefs to keep up with the good fight while ensuring that normalcy return back to Nigeria.
The statement was titled, ‘Senate committee commends Nigerian Army’.
“Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume while expressing appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the feat achieved in recent times against BHT/ISWAP insurgency, banditry and other criminalities said the Nigerian Army under the current leadership has shown commitment and determination to end security challenges bedeviling the country.
“He added that the Nigerian Army has recorded tremendous success in all its operations which according to him has led to total disarray of bandits in North West and North East Nigeria.
“He therefore urged the Nigerian Army not to rest on their oars until the country is free from the grips of insecurity. He assured the Nigerian Army of the senate’s support in all its operations.
Senator Ali Ndume also called on Nigerians to give the Nigerian Army the desired support needed in their operations by sharing actionable information that will aid their operations.”
