The Attorney General of the Nigerian Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), has revealed that the federal government recovered £6,324,627.66, over N3.2bn of stolen public funds from various jurisdictions globally, from March 2021 to May 2022.
This is due to the fact that during the first 18 months of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, N1.82 billion was made through the selling of bid forms and the actual sale of seized assets.
Malami revealed this on Thursday, during the 46th State House Briefing, which was held at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja and was hosted by the Presidential Communications Team.
The recovered foreign loot, according to Malami, has subsequently been allocated to important infrastructural projects around the country.

The Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Abuja-Kano Road, and the Second Niger Bridge are among them.
According to the attorney general, the Ministry of Justice assisted the Federal Government in a number of infrastructure funding deals.
He bemoaned the fact that there is now a N329 billion funding imbalance in the country.
Malami said that N596,055,479.47 in stamp duty has so far been collected by an inter-ministerial committee on the audit and recovery of prior years.
