President Buhari made this known while receiving the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Nadeem Raza, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made the disclosure of the President meeting with the Pakistan officials in a statement titled ‘Military cooperation: President Buhari appreciates Pakistan.’
Femi Adesina quoted President Buhari as saying, “We greatly appreciate your help in terms of training members of our armed forces, officers and men. Some of my colleagues trained in your country, and you have remained consistent in assisting us. We benefit a lot from Pakistani, and we are grateful.”
Speaking on the strong ties shared between Nigeria and Pakistan, General Raza said Nigeria was one of Pakistan’s highly revered allies and that the collaboration of both countries is cherished by the Islamic state.
