The National Examination Council (NECO), has announced that no fewer than 727,864 students (60.74%) of the 1,198,412 who took the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) this year, received five or more credits, including English language and mathematics.
A total of 889,188 applicants (74.89%), of candidates who took the school-based exams this year, received five English language credits.
Overall, 929,140 candidates received credits or above in mathematics.
Speaking at the NECO headquarters in Minna, the capital of Niger State, on Thursday, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO, announced the results’ release. He said a total of 1,209,703 students registered for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations this year, making up of 636,327 males and 573,376 females.
