Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based human rights activist, has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his handling of disgraced super cop, DCP Abba Kyari’s cocaine trafficking case. ayokinews.com reports
Buhari, according to Adeyanju, should be applauded for not intervening with Kyari’s current case.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Adeyanju wrote: “I commend President Buhari and his government for not interfering with this Abba Kyari cocaine trafficking issue.”
Kyari, the former Commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), has gotten himself into some new legal issues. This time, he’s being charged with drug trafficking by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
After evidence tied him to an international drug cartel operating along the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug route, the NDLEA designated him WANTED.
Shortly after declaring Kyari wanted, the agency further released a video footage of him attempting to bribe an NDLEA operative.
