Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name 2Baba, claimed in a recent interview that his debut hit, “African Queen,” was both a blessing and a curse to him.
The singer, who has had several popular hit songs and albums, said that his 2004 hit track, “African Queen,” was a blessing since it launched him into the spotlight and helped him win local, national, and worldwide honors.
In Nigeria, his music has earned him the moniker of “King of R & B.”

He did, however, add that the song’s popularity seemed like a curse because his subsequent albums were always compared to his breakthrough song “African Queen.”
He also discussed how the popularity of his first big hit song will always eclipse that of his later compositions.
