Following their victory in the Supreme Court, Governor Seyi Makinde has ordered the transfer of N1 billion naira to former members of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo state. ayokinews.com reports
The payment is the first installment, with the remainder contingent on the financial position of the local government districts.
According to a letter received by journalists dated December 21st, the payment is consistent with the Ministry of Justice’s view that the total and final payment owed to judgment creditors as their salary and allowances as decreed by the Supreme Court, excluding PAYE, is N4,874,889,425.60.
