Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has responded to claims made by Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, of appointing him as governor. ayokinews.com reports
The governor was the target of Tinubu’s vitriol and fury yesterday in Abeokuta. An uncomfortable Tinubu bared his thoughts over what he saw to be a plot by persons he had previously aided to sabotage his presidential ambition.
Dapo, in a thinly disguised statement on Friday, downplayed Tinubu’s influence in his election as governor of Ogun in 2019.
The embarrassed governor also stated that he is not an “emperor with an entitlement mentality.”
“I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance,” the Ogun governor tweeted on Friday morning. “I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”

Speaking with APC members on Thursday, Tinubu stated unequivocally that he must be Nigeria’s next president.
“This one sitting behind me, Dapo, can he say he could have become a governor but for me?” Tinubu said derisively while pointing at Abiodun.
Dapo Abiodun, who was present at the event, did not respond, but he was plainly embarrassed.
Also during the meeting, Tinubu also claimed responsibility for the successful election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, as well as his political favors to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Nuhu Ribadu, and other prominent figures around the country.
