According to Ezeife, President Muhammadu Buhari has been trying to push the Igbos out of the demographics of Nigeria, but they would not leave.

Ezeife made this known while speaking to newsmen during the public presentation of three books based on the revival of Igbo culture by Dame May Ikokwu, the founder of a non-governmental organisation (NGO), known as Save Our Heritage Initiative (SOHI).

He further accused the president of being responsible for the political and security tension in the southeastern part of the country.
