A young security guard has been arrested by Kano State Hisbah officials for reportedly ripping off and trampling on pieces of the Holy Quran. ayokinews.com reports
The man, who is believed to be in his early 20s, was saved from being lynched by members of his community in Kano’s Kuntau district.
Following the accusation, he was turned over to the Kano state Hisbah police command.

SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the state Hisbah spokesperson, confirmed the incident which occurred on Sunday, February 20, to newsmen.
He stated that the suspect is still being held in custody.
